The Governor’s Office of Workforce Development and the Georgia Department of Labor will host the Georgia Jobs for Veterans Career Expo from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 8 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

The expo, which is free of charge for participating employers, is an opportunity for Georgia’s employers to fulfill hiring needs with qualified veterans.

While the expo is designed for veterans, it is open to the general public.

The expo will include an employer’s meet-and-greet to prescreen job seekers at their booths in order to review veteran’s résumés and applications. Employers also will be able to conduct on-site interviews.

During the expo, GDOL staff will provide a variety of services to help attendees in their job searches. The services include assistance in transferring military experience and skills to the civilian job market, and workshops on topics such as “How To Use Social Media In Your Job Search,” “Interviewing Tips and Strategies,” and “Resume Preparation.”

Approximately 50 agencies and organizations will participate.

Any employers interested participating can contact Steve Jennings by calling 404-232-3510 or Steve.Jennings@gdol.ga.gov.
