Three employees of VIP Office Furniture & Supply recently volunteered their time at Keep Liberty Beautiful’s Annual St. Catherine’s Beach Sweep. Kem McKinnon, Jess Waldrop and Jennifer Buehler readily gave up their Saturday morning to help keep this local beach clean.
VIP owner Dianne Horton read about the cleanup in the Courier and decided it would be a perfect opportunity for the employees to get involved. She donated the use of her boat for the cause.
KLB Executive Director Sara Swida said she was grateful for the volunteers and the additional boat.
“Trying to find gracious volunteers to donate their time, boats and gas is always a challenge for this cleanup,” she said. “Thankfully we have friends of the program like VIP that help to make sure this cleanup is possible. “
Along with 24 other volunteers, Keep Liberty Beautiful collected just under 500 pounds of trash from the island. For other volunteer opportunities with Keep Liberty Beautiful, call 880-4888 or email klcb@coastalnow.net.
