CenturyTel Southern Region Vice President Todd Schafer introduced himself and his company to local business leaders at last week’s Hinesville Rotary Club meeting.
CenturyTel recently bought Coastal Communications as part of its acquisition of Madison River Communications. CenturyTel, headquartered in Monroe, La., is one of the nation’s largest telecommunications providers, serving small-to-midsize cities in 25 states.
According to Schafer a major component of the company is creating and maintaining partnerships within the communities it services.
“We believe in being partners with our communities,” he said. “We have employees in the community and we like them to live and work and contribute in our communities.”
He also said CenturyTel “tries to be partners in growing the economies” of the communities it operates in.
