Authorities are on the scene of an accident on Interstate 95 southbound involving multiple victims.  The accident occurred near Mile Marker 70.  Exit 76 in Midway is closed southbound due to two helicopters landing on the interstate to pick up patients.  Mutual aid had also been requested from Bryan Country and Liberty County assets.  The accident involving several vehicles occurred around 1:30 p.m.

UPDATE: 

According to a law enforcement official on scene, six people were injured in the accident including a 7 year old child. The patients were flown to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. Mutual aid had also been requested from Bryan Country and Liberty County assets.  The accident involved one pickup truck and occurred around 1:30 p.m.

I-95 from Mile Marker 70 to Exit 76 has been reopened.
