City proclaims Oct. 17 'Support your local chamber day'

The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce recently announced that Mayor Allen Brown and the city of Hinesville issued a proclamation declaring Wednesday, Oct.17, “Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day.” This proclamation was signed into action on Sept. 20. 

The mission of the LCCC is to support new and existing business, trade and industry within Liberty County while increasing the cultural, civic, educational and overall quality of life of its citizens. The chamber is celebrating is entering its’ 43rd year in business.

“We appreciate the recognition of Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day and know that our continued vision to exemplify diversity, professionalism and ethics through our willingness to collaborate with various cultural, civic and governmental entities to achieve quality results will continue to propel us forward for the next 43 years,” said Chamber CEO Leah Poole. 

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has been in existence since 1912. President William Howard Taft first brought the concept for an organization which would represent the concerns of U.S. businesses in an address before Congress in December of 1911.
