The Liberty County Convention & Visitors Bureau (LCCVB) will host its bi-monthly board meeting on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at the Historic Bacon Fraser House located at 208 East Court Street Hinesville, GA. The meeting purpose is to make decisions, discuss previous events, go over the agenda, plan and evaluate future events, promotions, and solve any problems. It is open to the public.

Aug. 18

The Hinesville Area Arts Council (HAAC) will host a book reading and signing on Aug. 18, at 6 p.m. in the art gallery at 102 Commerce St in downtown Hinesville.

Clay Sikes local businessman, developer, entrepreneur and writer has written a new book entitled ‘Growing Up Coastal: Life on the Georgia Coast’. It is a series of short stories detailing life on the coast in the 60s and 70s. If you grew up living along the coast you can relate to the life experiences and adventures.

Liberty County Animal Services and Carpathia Paws are hosting a free adoption, micro-chipping and vaccine clinic from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Liberty Animal Services at 1731 Lee Place Road, NE, Hinesville. Free vaccines courtesy of Petco love. Walk-in clinic no appointment necessary. Free micro-chipping, regardless of county residence. Cats must be in a carrier, dogs must be leashed, Micro-chips are first come first served until they run out. Thanks to a sponsorship from Carpathia Paws, pets will also be available for adoptions with no adoptions fees.

Obituaries Due to the increasing cost of print, going forward obituaries will be charged as follows: 500 words $75 501-1,000 words $100 1,001 words and up $150

 Bethel AME Church Citizens Relying on Spiritual Servants (CROSS) C.R.O.S.S. in conjunction with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Savannah are open to those in need on the fourth Saturday of every month. Food bags will be given out from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

C.R.O.S.S. has a clothing ministry giveaway on the second and fourth Saturday of every month. The ministry is open from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. School Uniforms are also available.
