Nov. 24

United Way of the Coastal Empire’s 14th Annual Turkey Trot will take place on Thursday, Nov. 24, at Daffin Park in Savannah.

Everyone is invited to join in the Thanksgiving morning festivities, which include a Kids K, Diaper Dash, and a 4-mile Run/Walk.

Races 8 a.m. – Kids K (0.62 mile, ages 10 and under) 8:15 a.m. – Diaper Dash (40 yards/ 0.02 mile, ages 3 and under) 8:30 a.m. – 4-mile Run/Walk Registration Online registration is open on United Way of the Coastal Empire’s website at https://uwce.org/turkey-trot On-site registration will also be available the morning of the race from 7- 8:30 a.m. at Daffin Park.

Dec. 1

Senior Citizens Inc., in Liberty County will have a lecture and presentation about Audrey Hepburn’s films, fashion and philanthropy at 10:30 a.m. at 800 Tupelo Trail, Hinesville. A childhood in Nazi-occupied Holland was the unlikely launch for the legendary Audrey Hepburn, in whom beauty blended with talent, elegance melded with fashion, and good works yielded universal esteem. The Learning Center’s Debbie Hornsby will use biographical episodes and vintage images to portray Hepburn’s rise to film star, fashion icon and philanthropist.

Dec. 3

St. Phillip’s Episcopal Church, 302 E. General Stewart Way, will have Christmas nativities from around the world displayed from 2-5 p.m. The public is invited to see nativities, have a cookie and a hot drink.

Dec. 17

Wreaths for Warriors Walk will host the 16th Annual Wreath Ceremony. The event will take place at noon at Fort Stewart Cottrell Field. The event is open to the public and is rain or shine. There is still time to support the ceremony and purchase a wreath. You can do so online at our website or Facebook. Wreaths are only $15. You can purchase a wreath directly from their Wreaths Across America’s group site.

For every wreath that they sell for Wreaths for Warriors Walk, their organization will receive $5 for their fundraising needs.

Bethel AME Church Citizens Relying on Spiritual Servants (CROSS) C.R.O.S.S., in conjunction with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Savannah, is open to those in need on the fourth Saturday of every month. Food bags will be given out from 9-11 a.m.

C.R.O.S.S. has a clothing ministry giveaway on the second and fourth Saturday of every month. The ministry is open from 8-11 a.m. School uniforms are also available. Bethel AME Church is at 233 Gause Street. The pastor is Rev. Debra Chaney, (912) 369-2417.

The Liberty County Republican Party holds monthly meetings on the first Thursday of every month at the La Quinta Inn and Suites 1740 E Oglethorpe Hwy, Hinesville, at 6 p.m.
