The Hinesville Police Department working with direct involvement of community support led to the arrest of a man accused of indecent exposure. The man was arrested March 31.

Kashif Edwards was recently observed in person and on video publicly fondling himself in front of women and children at two different locations within Hinesville. As soon as the Hinesville Police Department was informed, they began an investigation to identify and find the suspect.

Mr. Edwards was seen entering into a store on March 31, 2021 by a citizen who was familiar with the incident. That citizen noticed Mr. Edwards acting suspicious and called 911 to report the incident. Due to the quick thinking of this citizen and excellent communication, HPD Patrol Officer Ramos responded and took Mr. Edwards into custody in under a minute.

Mr. Edwards has been charged with three counts of child molestation, two counts of public indecency and a single count of stalking. Mr. Edwards is being held at the Liberty County Jail on a $31,500 bond.

If you have had any inappropriate or suspicious contact with Mr. Edwards, please give Detective Kevin Remillard a call at 912-368-8211.
