COVID-19 update: 17 cases in Liberty County
Coastal Health District logo

There are 17 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Liberty County and one in Long County, the Coastal Health District reported on Easter Sunday.

There was some change in numbers in the eight-county district Saturday due to the state’s use of “geolocation” to match addresses of those with the virus to the correct counties.

Here’s the update:

As of 12 p.m., April 12th, there are 272 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in residents of the Coastal Health District and 7 deaths.

Cases by county:

  • Bryan: 29 cases, 1 death
  • Camden: 20 cases
  • Chatham: 147 cases, 5 deaths
  • Effingham: 22 cases, 1 death
  • Glynn: 33 cases
  • Liberty: 17 cases
  • Long: 1 cases
  • McIntosh: 3 cases

Please note: Reductions or changes are due to corrections of a previous errors in the database. The state office of epidemiology recently notified all the districts that we might see a shift in some of the numbers as they go back through the database and use geolocation to match addresses to counties. Some entries that had been manually entered into the wrong county are shifting to the correct county of residence.
