COVID-19 update: 37 cases now in Liberty, 5 in Long

Liberty now has 37 confirmed cases of COVID-19 while Long County has five, the Coastal Health District said on Friday. 

In addition, the CHD reported a third person has died from COVID-19 in Bryan County, which has 54 confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

Here's the latest update from the CHD's public information office:

As of May 1st, there are 459 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in residents of the Coastal Health District and 15 deaths.

 

Cases by county:

  • Bryan: 54 cases, 3 deaths
  • Camden: 33 cases, 1 death
  • Chatham: 230 cases, 9 deaths
  • Effingham: 36 cases, 1 death
  • Glynn: 58 cases, 1 death
  • Liberty: 37 cases
  • Long: 5 cases
  • McIntosh: 6 cases

Please note: Reductions are due to corrections of previous errors in the database. The state office of epidemiology is reviewing the database and using geolocation to match addresses to counties. Some entries that had been manually entered into the wrong county are shifting to the correct county of residence.
