Seventy soldiers from the 3rd Division Sustainment Brigade left Savannah last week on their way to Europe as the start of he 3rd Infantry Division’s mission to bolster NATO allies in the region. Col. Jen McDonough, the brigade commander, addressed the troops before their departure.

“You have trained and are ready for this mission,” she said.

Col. McDonough also advised family members to take advantage of the services provided to them during the nine-month deployment.

The 3rd Infantry Division is deploying nearly 4,500 soldiers to Europe over the next several weeks, including the division headquarters and the 2nd Brigade Combat Team. They will be serving under the Army’s V Corps headquarters.
