A Liberty County Sheriff's  Office deputy is on administrative leave pending an internal investigation after a woman complained her grandson was handcuffed.

Liberty County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Jon Long said the department is looking into claims a deputy handcuffed a Waldo Pafford student and put others in back of a patrol car as part of a Career Day demonstration Friday.

The incident came to light when a woman called WTOC to report it. Long said LCSO will issue a statement once the investigation is finished. The deputy has not been named.
