East Liberty County American Legion Post 321 delivers holiday baskets to assist those in need this Thanksgiving

During the past few months East Liberty County American Legion Post 321 sought out and received holiday basket donations for allow the Post with the support of the community to assist those in need during Thanksgiving. 

Several local business and residents stepped forth and assisted with donating baskets.  On Saturday, Nov. 23, members gathered at Post Commander Jeff Bowen's residence and completed the process of compiling all items into their respective baskets and on a bright Monday morning, Nov. 25,  Bowen, Post Historian Bill Walter, Commander’s Aide Herbert Reed, along with Past Post 321 Commander Dennis Fitzgerald, convoyed around to several communities and also this year, with the assistance of Chaplain Maj. John Hubbs, plans and operations chaplain for Fort Stewart, delivered several baskets to Brigade chaplains for their use as needed. 

From the members of East Liberty County American Legion Post 321 to all who supported this project: “Your assistance is beyond words, Thanks; if you desire to help us, we are going to try to have some more for the Christmas season, but can only accomplish this with the assistance of the great citizens of Liberty County.”
