Valdosta gradutates

VALDOSTA — Eight students from the area graduated from Valdosta State University at the end of the spring semester:

• Heather Garrido of Hinesville, who earned the Education Specialist in teacher leadership

• Jasmine Gilmore of Hinesville, who earned the Bachelor of Arts in sociology and anthropology

• Kenneth Murphy of Glennville, who earned the Bachelor of Fine Arts in mass media

• Kristopher Duncan of Midway, who earned the Bachelor of Business Administration in management

• Landis Johnson of Hinesville, who earned the Bachelor of Music in music education

• Misty Robinette of Hinesville, who earned the Doctor of Education curriculum and instruction

• Molly Zechman of Midway, who earned the Bachelor of Science in Education in communication disorders

• Naomi McFadden of Hinesville, who earned the Bachelor of Science in organizational leadership

More than 1,100 students completed the requirements of their respective academic programs during the spring semester.

Georgia Tech honors

ATLANTA — Wesley Durrence of Glennville earned the distinction of faculty honors for spring 2016 at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

This designation is awarded to undergraduate students who have a 4.0 academic average for the semester.
