ASU, Hinds, Troy students earn honors

BATON ROUGE, La. — The following area residentsm who attended Armstrong State University, were recently initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

They are Brian Hester of Ludowici, Amy Butler of Midway, Chelsea Nash of Fort Stewart, Dy’mire Jones of Hinesville, Jonathan Moyett of Hinesville, Sierra Lester of Midway and Raveenn Smith Mowbray of Hinesville.

They were among 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi each year. Membership is by invitation and requires nomination and approval by a chapter.

Hinds College honors

RAYMOND, Miss. — Hinds Community College president’s scholars have been named for the fall semester. President’s Scholars are those with a cumulative 4.0 GPA.

Among those recognized was Amanda Hawley of Hinesville.

Troy’s provost’s list

TROY, Ala. — Kara Wheeler of Hinesville has been named to the provost’s list at Troy University for the 2015-16 academic year.

The list honors full-time undergraduates who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who have a GPA of at least 3.65.
