Author, illustrator and publisher Pam Alexander from Tattnall County visited Joseph Martin Elementary School recently to share the books she has written about the state of Georgia.
Students were given an opportunity to discover the process Alexander uses to create her illustrations and learned many interesting facts about Georgia.
The main character in the books is Yumion, a Vidalia onion. The titles of the books are “The Onion Ambassador, Yumion Goes to the City,” “Yumion’s Mountain Holidays” and “Sails, Pails and Alligator Tales.”
Alexander also introduced her newest character, Jeremiah, a time-traveling frog. Jeremiah visits historical events in Georgia’s history, such as the meeting between Gen. Oglethorpe and Tomochichi and the Battle of Atlanta.
Her book is titled “Jeremiah Makes History Hop.”
After the presentations, Alexander took the time to autograph books bought by the students.
