MOUNT VERNON— Brewton-Parker College will award the Pillars of Excellence Scholarship to six academically-qualified freshmen enrolling in fall semester 2012.
The $2,000 scholarship may be renewed annually for four years as long as recipients are enrolled full-time and maintain a 3.0 grade point average.
The minimum criteria for consideration are an SAT score of 1100 on the combined critical reading and math portions and a 3.25 high school GPA at time of application.
A composite ACT score of at least 24 may be substituted for SAT scores. 
Scholarship winners will be chosen through a selection process with set deadlines.
The online application is due March 9.
Applicants will be interviewed by the academic selection committee March 23.
Winners will be announced no later than April 6.
