Savannah Technical College’s Liberty campus will host a free community event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at its Airport Road location.
The Celebration of the Young Child coincides with the national month of the young child observed each April. This is Savannah Tech’s second year hosting this event aimed at children, birth to 8 years of age.
“Last year’s event had great community participation and we are hoping that even more children will attend this year,” Terrie Oliver, director of instruction for Liberty campus, said.
The event will feature age appropriate games with storybook adventure themes. A moon jump will be set up with multiple inflatables to give kids many options for a good time.
All booths and prizes are free of charge. Featured booths include arts and crafts, fingernail painting by Mirrors Beauty Studio for Kids, storytelling, and a hay bale maze. Food and drinks are also free but amounts are limited.
There will be local civic groups in attendance, including Hinesville Police and Fire departments, as well as Babies Can’t Wait.
These groups will offer information to parents and the HPD will provide fingerprinting for children.
