Church help youth attend leadership program

Faith Temple is hosting a fundraising BBQ/yard sale for Jasean Smith on Saturday, March 29, across from King and Son's Funeral Home in Glennville.
The fundraiser will begin at 8:30 a.m., and proceeds will assist Smith attend the National Young Scholars Program this summer. The program is for students with a history of academic achievements who have demonstrated leadership potential.
Smith was nominated by a teacher and has been accepted to the program. He is a member of Faith Temple Ministries Youth Department, and attends Lyman Hall Elementary where he is an honor roll student in the gifted program.
In January, he placed fifth in the county's spelling bee. Smith, 9, is the son of John and Rikki Smith. His maternal grandparents are Robbie and LeAnn King and his great- grandparents are Ruben and Novella King. His paternal grandparents are Larry and Betty Smith and his great-grandparents are J.C. and Ida Mae Smith.
