SAVANNAH — At its June meeting, the Savannah Technical College local board of directors named Donald Lovette the vice chairman of the board. Lovette is the director of laboratory services at Liberty Regional Medical Center.
Jimmy Burnsed, president of Bryan Bank & Trust, was selected as the incoming chairman. He will succeed the Rev. Thurmond Tillman of First African Baptist Church.
The officers assume their roles in July, when the new fiscal year begins.
The board also honored Dick Knowlton for 11 years of service to the college. Knowlton, who stepped in to complete the term of a departing member when he joined the board in 2000, served three successive three-year terms.
Savannah Technical College serves Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties. The board is comprised of business and community leaders from across the region.
