The Liberty County School System’s Performing Arts Center hosted its first annual Fine Arts Showcase on March 20.
Many elementary-school students showcased their artwork, including art teacher Carol Hough’s students at Waldo Pafford, where Sonia Bacon is the principal; art teacher Heather Brancato’s students at Taylors Creek, where Katrina Byers and  Tamela Scharnagl are the principals; and art teacher Anna Shuman’s students at Joseph Martin, where Rebecca Mock is the principal.
At the middle- and high-school levels, art work was submitted by teacher Christine Capps’ students at Lewis Frasier Middle, where Jermaine Williams is the principal, and teachers Brooke Reyna and Joanne Remppel’s students at Bradwell Institute, where Scott Carrier is the principal.
Entertainment was provided by Midway Middle Schools’ jazz band and step team, which is directed by Eric Heady and Shannon McFadden. Debra Frazier is Midway Middle’s principal.
Bradwell Institute’s drumline, under the direction of Jeremy Fermin, also performed.
Performing Arts Center event coordinator Dr. Kathryn Blackmon said it was wonderful to see so many talented students in the arts represented in Liberty County, as well as so many supportive parents.
