Fifteen students from First Presbyterian Christian Academy were selected to participate in the 2009-10 Young Adult Liberty Leadership program.
The program was developed four years ago to provide leadership training to high school students in Liberty County. The students participate in various activities throughout the community.
Their first meeting of the year was on Oct. 26 at Bryant Commons and featured activities to learn students’ leadership and communication styles.
Kevin Thomas, local business owner and coach, spoke to the students about the importance of becoming a leader and what it means to be a leader.
This year the YALL participants, among other things, will participate in a poverty simulation and tour Liberty Regional Memorial Hospital.
