One of the winners of the annual Daughters of the American Revolution American History Essay Contest was Hannah Floyd, a student at First Presbyterian Christian Academy in Hinesville.
This area contest was sponsored by the St. Andrew’s Parish Chapter of the DAR in Darien.
The topic for this year’s contest was the Jamestown colony. Students were asked to pretend they lived in Jamestown during the early years. They were to write a letter home to someone in England, including historical facts and details.
