Area high schools will have their graduation ceremonies this weekend.

Attendees are reminded that noise makers, alcohol, weapons, coolers, food, drinks, balloons, pets and distracting items, such as beach balls, are not allowed in the stadiums.

All bags are subject to search.

No smoking is allowed in the stadiums or on any property owned by the Liberty County Board of Education, including the parking areas.
Both graduations for Liberty County schools will be live streamed at www.liberty.k12.ga.us/graduation2015.  The live-stream broadcast will be accessible 30 minutes prior to the start time of each ceremony. Video recordings of the ceremonies will be housed at www.liberty.k12.ga.us/graduation2015 for a few weeks after the graduation ceremonies.

Here is information on each ceremony:

Bradwell Institute

Bradwell Institute’s graduation will be at 8 p.m. Saturday at Olvey Field.

Guests will be allowed to sit on both sides of the stadium and may enter through the home and visitor gates located on all four corners of the field. The gates will open at 6:30 p.m.

In the event of rain, graduation will be moved to the BI gym. Each graduate received tickets to be used in case of inclement weather.
Because of space limitations, only those possessing tickets will be allowed admission into the gym.

Liberty County High School

Liberty County High School’s graduation will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Donell Woods Stadium.

Guests will be allowed to sit on both sides of the stadium and may enter through the home or visitor gate located at the stadium entrance. The gates will open at 6 p.m.

In the event of rain, graduation will be moved to the LCHS gym. Each graduate received tickets to be used in case of inclement weather. Because of space limitations, only those possessing tickets will be allowed admission into the gym.

Because of concerns for public safety, all vehicles will be restricted from parking along Highway 84. Parking will be limited to two sites, and a free shuttle service will be included.

The traffic-management plan is as follows:

• Liberty County Sheriff’s Office will restrict vehicles from parking along Highway 84, 1 mile east and west of Liberty County High School.

• Caution barrels will be placed along the sides of the road to assist in preventing traffic from parking along Highway 84.

• Graduation attendees will be directed to park at one of the following locations: Liberty County High School, Snelson-Golden Middle School or Midway Middle School.

• A free shuttle will provide transportation to and from Snelson-Golden Middle and Midway Middle. The shuttle will depart at 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. from both locations.

First Presbyterian Christian Academy

First Presbyterian Christian Academy’s graduation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the main post chapel on Fort Stewart.

People who wish to attend need to have emailed Principal Shannon Hickey — and that deadline has passed — for expedited entry onto Fort Stewart.

Those who did not email Hickey will need to use the post’s main gate.  When approaching the main gate, the driver will need to use the right-most lane. All occupants of the vehicle who are ages 15 and older will need to show identification. All attendees should allow for extra time getting onto the post, as the ceremony will begin on time.

Once at the chapel, use the main sanctuary entrance.

If Fort Stewart is placed on lockdown and there is no access to the post, graduation will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 320 Memorial Drive in Hinesville.

Dress is Sunday-best attire.

The keynote speakers will be U.S. Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga., and Col. Kirk W. Eggleston, commander of the Medical Department Activity on Fort Stewart.

Long County High School

The senior banquet will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Long County High School. Only seniors who reserved their seats by April 23 will be able to attend.

The graduation ceremony will be at 8 p.m. Friday at Veterans Stadium in Ludowici. All seniors must report to the Smiley Elementary Gym by 6:15 p.m.

In case of rain on Friday, graduation will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Veterans Stadium. If it is still raining Saturday morning, graduation will be at 8 p.m. Saturday at Veterans Stadium. If it is still raining at 8 p.m., the graduation ceremony will be moved to the high-school gymnasium. Seniors will be given a determined number of tickets to give out to family members. The tickets must be presented to enter the gymnasium.

Seniors are to wear their cap and gown for the graduation ceremony. The following is the dress code for what should be worn beneath the cap and gown. If there are any questions regarding the dress code, seniors are encouraged to contact a senior adviser or Principal Scotty Hattaway.

Boys should wear black dress pants or slacks, white dress shirt, dark tie, black socks, black dress shoes. Girls should wear a white or pastel (i.e., pale yellow, pale blue, etc.) dress, with no print or designs. Dress should not be longer than the gown. White dress shoes are to be worn; no flip-flops or sandals allowed. The white collars that were included with the senior cap and gown are not required to be worn.

All jewelry attached to the body through piercings, except in the ears, must be removed. This includes but is not limited to the following: tongue, lip, nose and eyebrow piercings.
