Liberty County Historical Society is sponsoring four scholarships for the 2007-08 academic year:
• The Bill and Eugenia Cox Memorial Scholarship for graduate students pursuing masters’ of education in history, $2,000;
• The Margaret Martin Memorial Scholarship in public history for graduate students pursuing advanced degrees in public history, $1,500;
• The Winston Walker Memorial Scholarship for undergraduate students majoring in history, $1,000; and
• The Avis Wisner Memorial Scholarship for current high school seniors with a demonstrable interest in history, $1,000.
