Joseph Martin Elementary students gathered for a photo last week and formed a giant number 85, which symbolizes the school-wide percentage goal they surpassed on their Accelerated Reader tests during one of the grading periods of the 2010-11 school year.
Renaissance Learning, the parent company for Accelerated Reader, suggests that students who maintain an average of 85 percent or higher on their tests perform better in all other subjects in school.
