STATESBORO - The first woman appointed to a superior court bench in Georgia will speak at Georgia Southern University's commencement this month.
Judge Faye Sanders Martin will headline the Dec. 16 ceremony at 9 a.m. at Hanner Fieldhouse on the Statesboro campus. Martin was the first female attorney in Bulloch County and the first female chief superior court judge in the state.
She also was the first mother to swear in her daughter as a Georgia attorney.
