Stephen Keiler II of Midway, a senior at Liberty County High School, successfully completed the 2012 American Legion Georgia Boys State program, held June 10-16 in Statesboro, according to gaboysststate.com.

The week-long course focused on citizenship, government, teamwork and sports.  

Participants acted as a 51st state with four counties and 16 cities. 

The participants held elections and learned about levels of government.


Stephen was city fire chief, city secretary and county chairman.
