The Liberty College and Career Academy Region 8 Skills-USA team poses outside the academy with their competition medals. Two team members qualified for the state competition Thursday in Atlanta.

The Liberty College and Career Academy Region 8 held its SkillsUSA competition last month at the Golden Isles Career Academy. The following students placed:
• Daniel King: first place, graphic communications
• Lucas Rupprecht: first place, advertising design
• Cody Green: second place, team work
• Christopher Lumpkin: second place, team work
• Desman Martin: second place, team work
• Eugene O’Brien: second place, team work
• Shawn Strickland: second place, team work
• Gregory Abbgy: third place, carpentry
• Trentice Williams: fourth place, electrical
The first-place winners will advance to state competition Thursday in Atlanta.
