Liberty County High School made a donation of food and money to the Liberty County Manna House to help feed families who normally would go without a Thanksgiving dinner. LCHS Principal Paula Scott encouraged students and teachers to donate to the Manna House. The JROTC program spearheaded the fundraiser along with the Rural Entrepreneurship through Action Learning Entrepreneurial Ventures (Real) Club in collecting the school’s donations of money and food.
The Rev. K.E. Deason and Manna House volunteers received the donations from JROTC Battalion Commander Cadet Lt. Col. Kiara Johns and Cadet Command Sgt. Maj. Michelle Gordon. Deason said that there was enough food and money to provide Thanksgiving dinner to more than 100 families. The monetary donations totaled more than $1,000.
