The Liberty County Chamber of Commerce 2017-2018 Young Adult Liberty Leaders class had a city government session on Oct. 24, hosted by the city of Hinesville.

In the session, students got a look at city government. Mayor Allen Brown welcomed the class and talked about his duties and responsibilities. The class toured city hall and the police and fire departments.

Students had the opportunity to dress in fire prevention gear and work a fire truck hose. They met with the fire chief, police chief as well as Interim City Manager Keith Howard, who spoke about being an effective leader.

YALL is a nine-month class. Participants meet at least once a month to learn about various functions of the community, including county and city government, public health, public education, tourism, economic development and more.
