Liberty, Long students honored by ATC

Altamaha Technical College recognized nine students from Liberty County and 15 from Long County for honors during the summer 2012 semester.

Michael Ferguson and Glenn Perkins each received the president’s award, which is for students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours during a term who achieve a 4.0 grade-point average for the term.

Willie Milner received the vice president’s award, which is for students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours during a term who achieve a 3.5 or better grade-point average for the term.

Five Liberty County students received academic-achievement awards for students who are enrolled in fewer than 12 credit hours during a term and achieve a 3.5 or better grade-point averages for the term. Award recipients were Sarah Barrett, Yolanda Britton, Kimberly Hardin, Lanikqua Lowe, Philip Parham and Patricia Williams.

The following students from Long County were honored:

• President’s award — Westley Bland and John Hendrix

• Vice president’s award — Cecil Crist, Raymond Faircloth and Clinton Lyons

• Academic-achievement award — Cora Council, John Crews, Necole DeLoach, Shelby Edwards, Katrina Hale, Tyler Hall, Martin Johnson, William Judy, Gertrud Makay and Ashley Pope
