Hickey receives Gulfstream scholarship: Emily Hickey, a graduate of First Presbyterian Christian Academy, recently received the Gulfstream Goldie Glenn Scholarship.
Hickey will major in animation and equestrian studies at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
The scholarship is worth $2,000 a year and renewable for up to four years. It is named for Albert H. “Goldie” Glenn, a former Gulfstream vice chairman who began his career as an aviation mechanic and spent 52 years in the industry.
Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has awarded more than $250,000 in scholarships to 16 children of employees at the company’s sites in California, Georgia, Texas and Wisconsin. Students were recognized at an event at Gulfstream’s Savannah headquarters.
“Gulfstream is like a family, and that’s why I am especially honored to recognize the outstanding academic achievements of the talented sons and daughters of Gulfstream employees,” Gulfstream Administration and General Counsel senior vice president Ira Berman said. “Hopefully, these scholarships will help these young men and women to excel as they pursue their academic and professional careers.”
