Members from the Long County 4-H Club presented a plaque to Long County Commissioners on Tuesday to thank them for their support.
Before the presentation, club coordinator Lisa Overbey told commissioners that all the club’s members are awesome and always willing to work in the community. An example of their hard work, she said, was exhibited just prior to their arriving at the courthouse, as they picked up 10 bags of trash in Ludowici after they were released from school.
Overbey said that once the presentation was over, they were going to the recreation park to work the concession stand during games. She said that with National 4-H Club Week going on from Oct. 5-11, the club felt it would be a good time to show commissioners how much the club members appreciated the county’s financial support.
Club members present Tuesday were Alex Griffis, Mary Cooper, Alexius Morten, Ben Spicer, Brock Griffis and Overbey. Commissioners are Willie Thompson, Robert Long, Gerald Blocker and Dwight Gordon.
