The 2015 Long County STAR student and teacher were honored by the Long County Chamber of Commerce on Feb. 23.The Student Teacher Achievement Recognition ceremony was at Long County High School. Chamber President Ray Howard and board Trustee Miriam Murray presented the awards to Hannah Golden and Debbie Walden.Golden, a LCHS senior, attended with her parents, Mike and Melissa Golden. In addition to receiving a plaque, she also received a $500 scholarship from the chamber.To be recognized, Golden’s cumulative high school grade point average had to be in the top 10 percent of her class, and she had to have the highest score on the three-part Scholastic Aptitude Test.
