On Dec. 17, Midway Middle School Student Council members visited the nursing home in Midway to bring holiday cheer to residents. They gave presents and sang holiday songs, taking requests from residents.
“This is an annual event for the students and they seem to really enjoy it,” said Glenda Layton, council advisor and graduation coach. “The objective here is to teach our students the importance of having compassion for others. Our students have become familiar with residents and we have adopted this institution for community service.”
