Students and parents packed the Midway Middle School gym Aug. 2 for a back-to-school rally.
The “Minute to Win It”-themed event allowed parents, students and staff to meet, mingle and mentally prepare for the new school year.
Participants were challenged to compete in 15 stunts from the game show ranging from “Face the Cookie” to “Elephant March.” Staff manned each stunt table, explained the rules and timed the contestants.
The Midway Panther mascot made an appearance much to the delight of the younger attendees. A giant inflatable slide also was available for students and their younger siblings. The school supplied hot dogs and drinks.
Principal Debra Frazier called the event “a successful start to the school year” and said she was pleased by the number of people in attendance.
