The Midway Middle School Builders Club, an affiliate of the Kiwanis Club of Liberty County, participated in its third annual Trick-or-Treating for Canned Goods in their school Oct. 24-26.

The group, in conjunction with Georgia Power Company, was able to donate an estimated 650 pounds of food to the Liberty County Manna House.

Led by faculty advisor Joy Kennedy and Kiwanis advisor Leah Poole, the Builders Club used money out of their treasury to purchase candy so each student who gave a non-perishable item could have one piece of candy. To add to the spice of this year’s drive, the Builders Club also offered a pizza party to the top class in each grade level that collected canned goods.
