No make-up days for school system

Liberty County students will not have to make up any missed days due to the Aug. 21 eclipse and Hurricane Irma Sept. 8-13.

The Board of Education approved, at their meeting Tuesday, Interim Superintendent Dr. Franklin Perry's recommendation to not make up any of the missed days.

Perry said the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning is not requiring the Pre-K Center to make up an inclement weather day and a survey sent to the schools showed that a make-up day was unneccessary.

Teachers are making up the missed instruction time in their classrooms, providing extra time for tutoring and some schools are having classes on Saturday, he said.
