Smiley Elementary School recently held its annual Curriculum Day/Picnic for Parents celebration.
This year’s edition drew a good crowd as parents and guardians were provided both a good lunch and good information on their children.
According to Assistant Principal Lisa Long, parents received information on attendance guidelines, academic expectations, strategies for helping their children be successful and info on school policies. After all the information was digested, parents enjoyed a fried-chicken dinner with their children in the cafeteria.
“Curriculum Day/Picnic for Parents is one of our favorite events each year,” Principal David Edwards said. “We appreciate all of our parents for their attendance on these special days as well as their support of education at home.”
