The Parker Companies, a nationally recognized leader in fuel sales across Southeast Georgia and South Carolina, presented a $1,000 donation on Dec. 15 to the Liberty County School System through the Fueling the Community program.
Parker’s offers a 1-cent Wednesdays Fueling the Community program at all of the company’s convenience stores. One cent of every gallon of gas purchased on the first Wednesday of the month is donated back to community schools. Parker’s made its first donation to the Liberty County School System as a result of this initiative.
“Today, I’m delighted to make our first donation to Liberty County schools to help support education in the area,” said Greg Parker, president and CEO of The Parker Companies. “This is the first of many donations we plan to make to local schools.”
To participate in the program, sign up for a PumpPal card at www.parkersav.com or at any of Parker’s convenience stores. After completing the registration, select a school to receive the donation of 1 cent per gallon. Existing PumpPal members can access their account online and select a school to receive donations.
“Above all,” Parker said, “I’d like to thank the board of education for allowing me to come here today and for all their hard work ensuring a quality education for children in Liberty Coun-
ty.”
Parker’s currently operates 26 convenience stores across the region and is opening additional stores in Chatham, Liberty, Effingham, Bulloch, Jasper and Beaufort counties.
