The Automotive Management Institute, in conjunction with Automotive Video Inc., recently awarded an AVI education scholarship to Charlene Parlett. The scholarship recognizes automotive service professionals who have a desire to improve their management and technical skills through education.

Recipients receive $1,000 to help cover expenses to attend educational sessions and view the latest repair technologies and equipment during the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service on Oct. 10-13 in New Orleans.

Parlett, owner of Southeast Auto Service & Repair in Hinesville, has worked in the automotive service industry for seven years. She earned the institute’s accredited automotive manager designation in 2011. Parlett is a member of ASA and the Liberty County Chamber of Commerce.

When she’s not working in her shop, she contributes to various community and industry organizations.

“I’m grateful to receive this scholarship. It offers me the opportunity to grow as a business owner, meet others in the industry and further my education and knowledge,” Parlett said.
