It’s a busy time of year for Liberty County Pre-K students and staff. They celebrated Children’s Book Week during Nov. 15-19. Everyone enjoyed daily themes — like hat day, crazy sock day, mismatch day and team spirit day — that encouraged students to get excited about books and reading.
The week concluded with more than 450 students and staffers dressing as book characters and parading through the school and adjacent Board of Education building. Students were cheered on by parents and the pre-K military partner battalion, 2-7 Infantry.
Staff and students are now looking forward to one of the biggest events of the school year. This Saturday, Liberty County Pre-K will host its annual Winter Fest from 11 a.m. -2 p.m. Participants can enjoy food, games and have photos taken with Santa. There will also be an auction of themed baskets that make wonderful holiday gifts. The public is invited to attend.
