Private school sets alumni day

Glennville Christian Academy will host its first Alumni Day on Saturday.
Activities get underway at 9 a.m. Four basketball games will highlight the morning. The first will feature the faculty and parents of present students against a co-ed team assembled from this year's championship squads. The second game will pit the 2008 GCA state champion Lady Minutemen against a determined group of former GCA players. A pee-wee game for students ages 4 to 12 will take place during the half time of the girl's contest.  Just prior to the final game of the morning between the GCA Minutemen varsity boys and an enthusiastic alumni team, the elementary pep squad will lead spectators in cheers.
There will be no charge for any of the games and all are open to the public. A full-service concession stand will be open with the proceeds benefiting the senior class.
A take-out or eat-in grilled chicken plate will be served at noon. Tickets are on sale now. They are $5 each and can be obtained from any senior or at the school office.
Following lunch, there will be a short meeting to organize an alumni association.
