Midway Middle School had its first nine-weeks Accelerated Reader celebration in October.
Students were given a goal of 25 points with an 80 percent or better average on reading quizes. And 98 students were invited to the party for meeting the goal.
The media center’s AR theme this year is Hollywood Books so the party took on a “Twilight” theme after the popular Stephenie Meyer’s saga. Students ate pizza and drank sweet tea donated by the local McDonalds. They also received goody bags with items related to the vampire-themed book.
