Last week started with activities, classes and more for faculty and staff of Coastal Pines Technical College as it convened at the Waycross location for the Annual Faculty and Staff Development Day.

The day began with a breakfast and tour of the new CIS/Welding Building on the Waycross campus. Instructors and equipment have been moved to the state-of-the-art classrooms and larger labs for classes to begin fall semester.

After division and department meetings employees attended classes which fit their needs, such as: planning for the future, international studies, investing, diversity, customer service, security and emergency procedures and help labs.

The day was concluded with a general session with President Dr. Glenn Deibert and staff giving updates. Deibert discussed the Jesup Student Affairs renovation project to be complete in early fall, the upcoming Sept. 21 open house for the Waycross CIS/Welding Building, enrollment forecasts and the Camden new campus design.

Classes begin at Coastal Pines Technical College on Aug. 21. There are seven locations. For more information, call 877-322-8682 or visit online at www.coastalpines.edu.
