Savannah Tech enrollment up

SAVANNAH — Savannah Technical College enrollment grew 10 percent over last year’s winter quarter enrollment numbers, marking the third straight quarter of double-digit enrollment growth.
Data show that 4,353 students were enrolled this quarter, compared with 3,959 at the same time last winter. This figure is slightly above the record enrollment of 4,344 reported last fall.
The school’s new president, Dr. Kathy Love, sees this trend continuing as the college continues to grow, strengthening and expanding course offerings.
“This continued growth speaks to the strength of what we have to offer. People can find what they’re looking for at Savannah Technical College. Whether it’s in the medical field, in manufacturing, in business or in the service sector, we have programs that position people for career success in less than two years. That’s very attractive in today’s economy. More than ever, people are looking to education to help improve their lives.”
Savannah Tech is a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia, serving Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties and is one of 33 colleges across the state to contribute to the overall enrollment growth in the system.
