Snelson-Golden Middle School recently was among the area’s top can-tab donators to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
According to parent coordinator Linda Cooke, the school donated 81,968 tabs to the charity on April 6.
“We donated the most tabs for the Hinesville area,” Cooke said. “The Ronald McDonald House was surprised and impressed with our collection. We donated 56 pounds of tabs. Thank you for your support and pulling.”
According to rhmc.com, the collected tabs will be taken to a recycling center, where they will be redeemed for cash.
“This house supports families in need of housing while their children are in the hospital for serious health conditions,” Cooke said. “Some of our students have stayed at the Ronald McDonald House in the past. Our students were personally motivated to participate in this activity and received no compensation for their efforts.”
