Seminar for CDL drivers set

SAVANNAH — Savannah Technical College will offer a free seminar on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s compliance, safety and accountability program at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 26, at the College’s Crossroads Auditorium, 190 Crossroads Parkway in the Crossroads Business Park off Interstate 95.

The two-hour seminar will be hosted by Georgia’s Center of Innovation for Logistics.

The program improves identification of unsafe commercial truck and bus companies and also identifies risks so they may be reduced to improve road safety.

This course will also be offered later this summer in conjunction with Savannah Tech’s three-day CDL refresher course at the Effingham Campus in Rincon. The refresher course is from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23 through Sunday, Aug. 26. Advance registration is required by noon Friday, Aug. 17. Cost is $700 and is non-refundable. The course offering is dependent upon a minimum registration of four students. Proof of a negative drug screen conducted within the previous 90 days will be required upon registration.
