ATLANTA -- Georgia schools Superintendent Kathy Cox says her two children were "pretty nervous" for her when she appeared on the Fox television program "Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?"

Cox appeared on the ABC program "Good Morning America" to talk about having won the $1 million prize on the show that aired Sept. 5.

Cox said Tuesday that her children "helped me cram. They were really helpful."

After winning, she said the money would be doled out to schools in Georgia that serve deaf and blind students in Macon, Clarkston and Cave Springs.

She said her family wasn't tempted to keep the money. "We knew I was going out there to help the state schools."
